Abstract

On January 30, 1989, Aldo Solari died, one of the great figures of the social sciences in Uruguay and in Latin America. Lawyer of origin, he later studied in Paris and London, from then on he devoted himself to the work of sociology and his work - in conjuction with that other specialists in the region since the 1950s - was a fundamental contribution to the constitution of the discipline in our environment.
