In this paper we analyze the effectiveness of the legislative control and the partisan political logics in Argentina’s history. We examine the second half of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth in Argentina, seeking to reconstruct the party interactions that lead to the creation of committees control and the way they worked, as well as definitions and conceptions of legislators regarding the legislative oversight mechanisms. The aim is to investigate the founding moment of legislative control in Argentina, aiming to identify continuities with its contemporary expression. We analyze the Session Diaries of the Chamber of Deputies of the Argentinian Nation from 1863-1912.
