Abstract

For most of this century, uruguayan political parties have been subjects of co-government rather than gobevernment themselves. Such hypothesis, which promotes research on intermediate categories situated somewhere between the c1assical poles of party or coalition goverments, is put to the test for the period 1942-1973. During that time, the authors record a strong matrix of inter-party agreement, even for the section of highest institutional decay (first three years of the 70's).
