About the Journal
Revista Uruguaya de Ciencia Política (RUCP) (ISSN 07979789) (ISSN 1688499X on line) is an academic journal specialized in political of national, regional and international interest. It disseminates research and trials of high scientific quality, unpublished in our language, including reviews and critical comments of books.
The RUCP is published every six months and the call to send articles is open permanently. Those who wish to submit articles for publication should follow the instructions that appear here. In addition, the RUCP makes regular calls for the presentation of thematic proposals for the publication of its special issues.
Articles must be sent in Word format to the Editor of the Journal at the following e-mail address: rucp@cienciassociales.edu.uy (miscellaneous volume) and rucpt@cienciassociales.edu.uy (thematic volume)
RUCP is a refereed journal that is evaluated with the "double blind" system.

STATEMENT OF EDITORIAL ETHICS AND GOOD PRACTICES
The Revista Uruguaya de Ciencia Política (RUCP) adheres to the ethical norms of the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE).
RUCP publishes Political Science´s articles elaborated under the highest standards of ethics and quality. These standards apply during all the steps of the process of selection and publication of manuscripts, and apply to all participants, including authors, reviewers, editors and editorial committee.
Authors´responsibility:
To guarantee that the manuscripts submitted are completely original, that all ideas and empirical evidence taken from other work have been duly referenced, and that all ideas given by third parties have been duly accredited.
To present an accurate description of the proceedings employed to conduct the research that led to the results
To verify that all authors approve the content of the manuscript, and that all people who significantly contributed to the manuscript are included as authors. The author in charge of the correspondence must also make sure that their co-authors approve the submission of the manuscript to be considered for publication.
To sign a statement of originality after a manuscript has been accepted
To be actively involved in the process of peer-reviewing, providing all the information requested by reviewers or editors.
In case that any type of errors are found after publication, to alert the editor to proceed to correct or retract the article
To avoid redundant, numerous or simultaneous publications about the same results of the research published
To act in a fully transparent way with regard to sources of funding and potential financial or other type of conflict of interest that could affect the results of the research
Reviewers´ responsibility:
To be objectives and fair in their evaluations, and to formulate comments and recommendations in a respectful and constructive tone
To handle the manuscripts received confidentially, being completely forbidden to share them under any modality
To excuse themselves from reviewing a manuscript if there is any conflict of interest related to authors, the topic or the funding, or if they do not consider themselves sufficiently experts on the matter
To highlight relevant omitted references to the authors, and to alert the editor about potential episodes of double publication not detected by the journal
To comply with the deadlines set up to send the evaluations requested
Editor´s responsibility:
To treat every author in an equalitarian and fair way, without discriminating for reasons of race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnical origin, nationality or ideology
To select, reject or conditionally accept manuscripts based on judgements about feasibility, originality and contribution of the paper to the discipline
To avoid any publication that could be affected by plagiarism
To maintain absolute confidentiality about received manuscripts and about personal information submitted by authors
To maintain absolute confidentiality to guarantee the anonymity of reviewers
To behave in a transparent way and to avoid any type of conflict of interest related to authors, their results or funding
Handling unethical conduct
Every conduct or action considered unethical must be reported to the editor. It must be reported with proofs to support the accusation
In case of receiving any complaint, it will be the editor´s responsibility to conduct an inquiry and to make a decision consistent with the nature of the situation.
